Seventy Years in business as of this fall.......David Rich stands almost alone now in the Winnipeg garment manufacturing trade. Western Glove is 100% imports now, Gemini folded after Christmas, Tan Jay has left, Freed & Freed is packing it in soon, all gone. So you gotta be doing something right to survive where others fall.

Yes cheap over seas imports are doing alot of them in.

I remember how vibrant that area was with thousands and thousands of sewers jammed into all those buildings. Things sure have changed!

Yes it is an industry that went to China and we are left going to wall mart for those cheap imports as we do not have a store of our own to buy them at . They were bought up by someone else.

The sewing industry and the retail industry of which we have very little presence in any more as a nation .
