Yes it will be a tad expensive but the family is worth it once and awhile then they leave me alone for a week to do as I please. Besides the Grandaughter and I are going to get lost somewhere in that big building .

I think he's more into the chocolate kind.
Depends on his teeth.

I liked turtles when I wasa kid because they were hard as rock, but I didn't like the pecan flavour...

We goto the Fort Garry twice a year. Mother's Day & around Christmas.

My Brother-in-law used to be one of the chef's at the Hotel (9 years ago), and my Wife used to be one of the managers (11 years ago).

Both of them will tell you the brunch USED to be phenomenal, but that they've cut corners in so many areas that it's just "decent" now.

It's still better than what's offered at other locations for about the same price, and the atmosphere is certainly more impressive.

We went this August as well when my brother-in-law was visiting. His reaction was "what's happened here?" He was disappointed in the quality of food and the presentation provided. Considering he's now a chef in a 5-star hotel in Sydney, Australia...I'll take his word for the quality.

The Hotel Fort Garry's $25 brunch had better be the very best in the city.

There are other hotels and locations with brunches...they all cost about the same (give or take a couple bucks).

As comparable dining goes...they are:

http://www.innforks.com/pdf/Current_Brunch.pdf

Counting the buffet at Old Country or Foody Goody isn't really a good comparison Smile.

Which is 1/2 the price Smile

But is it the same quality of food? or is it more what you would find at the Old Country Buffet?

It's good enough for my tastebuds! Won't be as rich as the fort Garry, but probably a step above old country buffet.

My hubby took us there for Mother's Day and the total was well over $100.00. I found that to be too expensive for me...especially for brunch. It was tasty but not worth the price.

At that price I would have a tendency to over eat to get my money's worth ;-)
