It is often in our lives when we are asked to donate to or assist the less-fortunate.
Unfortunately, the requests are usually made by anonymous organizations or faceless entities.
I’d like to introduce you to Spencer Sletten. He’s a wonderful boy, and I’ve met him personally (while dressed as Santa) and had the opportunity to interact with him.
Unfortunately, because of various policies and regulations, proper treatment for his condition is not reasonably available here in Manitoba. Proven treatments ARE available in China though, and his family has decided to seek it out. The expense is enormous for them, and they are asking their friends & family for help.
As such, they have sought other options, and are now scheduled to have a fund-raising social on September 19th, 2009.
8pm – 1am
Notre Dame Rec Centre
Tickets: $10
They are in need of prizes & donations in order to achieve their goal.
If any of you have anything you can offer, or know of anyone who can help, please have them contact either myself or the Sletten’s directly through Spencer’s website.
If you would like to “meet” Spencer, or learn more about this cause, please visit the website here: http://spencersjourney.shawwebspace.ca/
