I have tried Verns Pizza, it is good and extremely filling. One piece was enough for me.

Could probably pull it off if you dip/soaked the crust in water first....
Remember, in a contest, it doesn't matter what it looks/tastes like....money's on the line!!
Comes down to how badly you want to be on the wall of fame!

I would say it probably also depends on how badly you want to break your toilet....

Dean I think you should give it a try....I have a feeling you'd easily win the $100.

I am reallly tempted. 30 minutes and 7lbs of food though not sure if I can still handle it. I used to be able to eat 2 extra large pizzas with 5 toppings from Boston Pizza way back in the early 90s. but that would take me close to an hour. ( and have lots of beer on hand).

Those guys are from Calgary.
Their pizza is pretty gross.
First for the stack of cold cuts that they put on the crust and the fact that their sauce has a weird cinnamon taste to it.
I dunno. Some might like it. I would rather stick with my Pizza Place pizza.

How or why would anyone put that much processed lunch meat between cheese and bread into their bodies is beyond me. The $1000 Vern's is offering wouldn't pay for the heart bypass surgery required after finishing it. We have had Vern's and for the price they charge I expected at least real mushrooms and chicken but instead got canned mushrooms and processed chicken something. Would rather pay for a Diana's Gourmet than Vern's. Just my opinion, though.

I would rather make my own pizza. I use whole wheat pizza dough and make my own sauce.

Wrong...
The History of Vern's Pizza
The Vern’s Pizza Company Ltd. began in the year 1990 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The first store was operated out of a convenience store named Vern’s Place.

the pizza dough my wife makes is second to none. When I made pizzas for a family recently for a thank you, even a member of their family who "hates" pizza absolutely loved it.
Does not stop us ordering pizza every once in a while though.

I am pretty sure that the new owners (as of 2006 ish) are from Alberta.
I remember reading something about them in the Calgary Herald a few years ago.

Yah but the cost of the ambulance ride alone will cost that much. Just joking around but still why would anyone even attempt this? Same principle as trying to eat the giant burger at the restaurant in Steinbach or the one at Blondies????? With the news just out today that the generation of 20-35's are now in the mix for being most at risk for heart disease, I still say why??????????????

....also, think of all the money you'll have to spend on medication to pay for the foolishness of youth...
Pizza can be health, but not that kind.

why not? If I stopped doing everything that was listed as bad for me I would not even be sitting near a computer typing this right now.
