I don't know of one in Winnipeg. The barber I used to go to in Toronto did them. I used to treat myself to one such shave every month or two. I recommend you try it at least once.

heh,, I once asked a hair dresser in winnipeg if they do shaving... AGAHST she almost shouted. WHERE IS IT YOU WANT SHAVED.... LOL

That is why I am looking. Found one that does a hot shave, but no straight razor. Pfft, it's just not the same.

There's a salon on Sargent Avenue that advertises straight razor shaves. Also, I think Jeffrey's Barbershop on Maryland might offer them too.

yup they are certainly supposed to.. or at least were supposed to a one time because of concerns of HIV, Hep B etc

disposable straight razors are what it was no idea if they got that overturned.

Mr Myles...He's old school with sterile old straight razors also and very clean and good...He is the one the Festival du Voyageurs dude all go to...I can't remember what he is called but has been there for yrs already...GGF

Rocky, my barber, uses newish 'straight razor' that is plastic and where the blades are changed.

I think one would be hard pressed to find an original long blade razor now days.

Yup...In boiling water is the easiest for those of us that are old school...and you can also use steam etc...and then good old rubbing alcohol to finish up...Been done for many yrs already and that process is pretty close to the method manufacturers use in commercial aps...and yes used by the guy in St B and with old fashion straight razor blades...and on a different subject matter...The question is being raised this week about the MB Health Care recycling by re sterilizing surgical equipment etc this past week...GGF

Feels real good for those of us who have had one...The irony is that they started making, twin, triple blades razors and so on...

But if you ever get a straight razor "hot shave" from an old guy having done it for years...It's "the best shave" you will ever have bar none...

Unfortunately it is a dying trade in Canada and the guy I talked about on other posts from Provencher Blvd also does haircuts to also help him keep himself going...GGF
