I have a weakness for warm, fresh baked, gooey sticky buns. I am a terrible baker, so it's rare that I find something that I actually enjoy that is freshly made and not too sweet. The other day I was followed on Twitter by @jonniesbuns, and was intrigued. It turns out that they're a small specialty bakery on Portage near Arlington, and they only make sticky buns. All sorts of interesting, delicious and amazing sticky buns. Nom, nom, nom.

If you have a sweet tooth, you should pop in and check them out. They have gluten free and hippy offerings too, for those who like such things.

I need to rave about two things I've had there:

= caramel rosemary buns (sticky, fresh, delicious caramel, oozing out of a bun that was flecked with rosemary)
= Leroy (regular sticky bun) topped with goat cheese and tapanade, and then grilled to oozing perfection.

They also have Black Pearl fair trade organic coffee on tap.

I'll eat cinnamon buns but "sticky buns"???? Yuck!!! ...the thought. I don't care how nice a person's buns are, if they're sticky, it's a turn-off to me.

Especially named Leroy.

More for me, I guess. I have no qualms about eating Leroy. Or sticky buns. I'm omni-something.
