My brother just called from Vancouver (5 minutes ago). He pulled over when his car began to shift. Apparently buildings were swaying. 6.7 on the scale.

6.7 isn't really that bad.

Compared to Japan, it is less than 1/100th in intensity.

Sign of what to come? The return of the Big Xtra?

Not exactly sure how you can scientifically make the correlation that one earthquake means that a bigger one will come soon.

sputnik. You can still get the Big Extra at some McDs.. the one in the Walmart on McPhillips still serves it... and yes it is still delicious.

I didn't know they were not available at all McD's. I had one at WalMart a few weeks ago and then ordered one the other day at Main near Redwood bridge. It wasn't on the menu so I asked why that is. Gal didn't answer/expalin but she said no problem - we can make one. When I paid she said it's just a Quarter Pounder with the letuce, tomatoe and mayo added. She reports that lots of people still request so they're considering putting it back on the board. A few years ago when I had one last - I don't remeber them being $3.99 - I thought they were not only good/lighter - but the economical choice.
